All monies raised goes to Happydays ministries, a homeless charity based in Halifax. Hope for the homeless through community and social enterprise Happy Days promotes supported community living and social enterprise. The key aim is to support the homeless and vulnerable (those with less chances in life) to live in safe and welcoming communities and together provide opportunities such as work experience, volunteering and support to help us prosper as a community.
Happydays offers safe and supported accommodation within a community setting, and runs two social enterprise schemes (Happydays Cycles & Happydays Cafe) which raise funds for the work and offer volunteering opportunities to their residents. The aim is to model what we do else where and develop partnerships to create more housing schemes which will help to reduce homelessness.
Happydays currently supports 11 men with supported accommodation in the local area. Over the last 12 months they have developed partnerships with other projects in South Shields, Dewsbury and Bradford which will offer another between 10 – 16 rooms to folk that find themselves homeless or at risk.
