Busy as ever at The Phoenix Shed

The shed has started 2018 with a real bang and numbers of guys attending is steadily increasing. Not only are attendees increasing, but so too are the variety of projects

Starting Wednesday 7 February is an Introduction to Wood Turning – 10am-12pm at The Phoenix Shed, Threeways Centre, Nursery Lane, Ovenden. This activity, led by Kasper McFarlane of Birstall Wood Turners is just £2 including tea, coffee, biscuits and friends.

Call 07930 207357 or 07481 543881 to reserve your place.

Benches and Planter for Woodbank Special School:

Funded by the Rotary Club of Sowerby Bridge, the guys at The Shed are hard at work making three large benches and two huge planters for a new Sensory Garden at Woodbank Special School. The project, led by Chris Freeman, is well under way and it’s hoped that it can be completed by the end of February and well in time for some lovely spring weather.

Walking Stick & Walking Pole Making

The Wednesday morning walking stick making has really taken off and some really lovely walking sticks and poles have literally, walked out of the door.

If you would like Phoenix Shed to make a walking stick especially for you, or for someone you know, just how you want it, please, just ask.  The guys would be more than happy to make one bespoke for you.  Speak to Chris 07930 207537, or Eddie 07481 543881.

This last Wednesday 20 guys signed in at The Shed and that’s a record. Everyone found something to do and over the day, an amazing 95 man hours was clocked up.

The work that The Phoenix Shed is doing for the community is truly amazing.
