Moorside Junior Wardens become Dementia Friends

On Wednesday 29 November, Junior wardens from Moorside Community Primary School were visited by Dan Marham Ovenden Initiative, West Yorkshire Police PCSO Joel Clayton and Jayne O’Connell from the Alzheimer’s Society who provided a fun session to raise awareness around Dementia.

Some of the activities the Junior Wardens took part in included writing down all the steps for making a cup of tea which saw some of the smallest but important steps being missed out highlighting what it might be like for someone with Dementia having to do such a task.

Other activities included the Junior Wardens writing down a lot of the things their brain allows them to do, from sleeping and thinking to eating and playing their favorite sports and video games.

The Junior Wardens really enjoyed the session which was topped off with them each receiving a Dementia Friends Badge for their great work and support.
