Calderdale Heritage Walks: Halifax Markets

The winter programme has fortnightly walks plus an extra one at Christmas. The majority are on Sundays, with 2 Saturdays and 2 on Bank Holidays.
No pre-booking required, just turn up and pay the Guide – its £3 (all ages)

Almost all starting points are served by public transport. Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed on walks unless indicated by the No Dogs symbol.

The next walk is on Saturday 16 December – Halifax Markets.

Note this walk is on a Saturday.

There have been more markets in Halifax than you might suspect and we include several of them (or their sites) past and present. A major feature is the fine Borough Market – we’ll look inside, outside, and around it (plus a little ‘behind the scenes’). No dogs.

2-3 hour guided walk exploring the heritage of this rather special area with our experienced guides.

Meet David Nortcliffe at 2pm by the Piece Hall’s North Gate (Woolshops side).

The normal charge is £3 for all ages unless shown otherwise. For virtually all our walks there’s no need to book, just turn up and pay on the day.
