Great things are happening at The Phoenix Shed

Wood Carving

The wood carving session that started a few weeks ago is now in full swing. Friday mornings at 10am are beginning to look busy, but there’s room for a few more. If you have your own tools, then so much the better. Each session is from 10am till 12 mid day and costs just £2. Phone Chris 07930 207537 to see if places are still available.

Walking Stick Making

The Wednesday morning walking stick making sessions are proving popular too. If you would like to try making one for either yourself, or for someone special, why not come along and try it out. Each session is from 9.30am till 12 mid day and costs just £2. Phone Chris 07930 207537 to see if places are still available.

Wood carving and walking stick making are run by our very own ‘Sticky George’

Please bear in mind that The Shed is primarily for men over the age of 55.

Networking

We are also very pleased to announce that when Shed Trustee chris Freeman spoke at the meeting at Pellon Social Club 9th October, he seems to have generated lots of interest, because several orders for planters and bird boxes and walking sticks have come in.

If you would like us to make something special for you, either for yourself, or for a present, please get in early because it could be very busy going up to Christmas.

A Very Special Project.

The guys at The Shed are very exited about a project, working with The Rotary Club of Sowerby Bridge and Tesco’s 5p bag fund, to create some outdoor furniture for a Local Special School. Preliminary plans have been approved and the project will now get into full swing. With a fair wind, it should all be in place before Christmas. More on this as the project progresses.

Has The Shed Scored Again?

Again, working with a Rotarian from the same club, the guys at The Shed have been asked to help finish of some score board timber work to make the score board a more comfortable place for the score keepers. It should be much cosier next season!

Odd Stuff

How about this lovely little Gollum Trolley planter for your garden? It’s made from recycled pallet wood. Novelty planters like this are our speciality. Just ask!
