Memory Lane Cafe in Sowerby Bridge

Memory Lane Café was established in early 2016 and aims to support people living with memory loss including their family, carers and friends by providing information, emotional support, as well as the opportunity to share experiences with others, and ultimately help to reduce isolation.  The café also provides an informal and social environment in which to learn new skills, enjoy activities, listen to guest speakers and make new friends.

The Memory Lane Café is a not for profit organisation and is run by volunteers.  Local funding enabled the café to launch in February 2016 and runs from 1:30 pm on the second and fourth Saturday of each month (see dates below).  Entry to the café costs £2 per person.  This includes all refreshments (tea, coffee, soft drinks, biscuits, cakes), materials and equipment (craft materials, games, memory puzzles, reminiscence aids), and helps to provide for guest speakers / entertainers.

The cafe is open to anyone living with dementia, other memory loss, or isolation. This includes carers, family and friends and is held at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Tower Hill, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 2EQ. For further information contact June Harvey on 01422 706373 or email
