Moorside Junior Wardens feed the birds of Beechwood Park

On Wednesday 26 April Junior Wardens from Moorside Community Primary School had a nice walk around Beechwood Park to find their bird boxes which had been built up during a previous session.

Joined by Peter Oddy, area parks manager for Calderdale Council, the Junior Wardens were taken around Beechwood Park where they hung up bird feeders which were also made previously.

The Bird Box project was sponsored by the Police Mutual Funds which has allowed the Junior Wardens to have a valuable input to contribute to bird conservation by creating a safe place for the North Halifax Wildlife and to encourage everyone to put up nest boxes in their local area in order to promote and enhance biodiversity and conservation of our breeding birds and wildlife.

So next time you are in Beechwood Park having an stroll or walking the dog, be sure to keep a look out for the bird feeders and nest boxes.
