Tesco store has Mental Health Awareness in mind

During Mental Health Awareness Week 2017 May 8th to May 12th 2017, Tesco’s  Aachen Way Store on Haugh Shaw Road, Halifax, will be hosting an event over three days, on the Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.

The event will enable customers and colleagues to access information and resources, in order to encourage  better mental health in our community.

Local Mental Health organisations involved include Healthy Minds, Insight Healthcare, Improving Access To Psychological Therapies, Staying Well & Andy’s Man Club.

Customers are invited to come and have an informal chat with the representatives of the various organisations to find out what support is available locally and to discover what they can do to  improve mental health for themselves, for family members or  friends.

Organiser Tracy Smith, Community Champion at Tesco Aachen Way explains,

“With 1 in 4 people in the UK experiencing a mental health issue each year, we have several colleagues here who feel the need for a wider awareness. Through the presence of Mental Health practitioners and support groups who operate within our community, we hope to promote the support that can be accessed locally.   At the same time, we hope to contribute towards the movement to remove stigma around mental health issues.”
