On a beautifully sunny afternoon on Monday 3rd April parents, grandparents, family members, friends and volunteers gathered together at the Ash Green Community Primary School’s upper site for the school’s 2nd annual Easter Bonnet Parade.
Halifax MP Holly Lynch formally opened the event by cutting the yellow ribbon before the parade of around 150 people walked through Mixenden before eventually arriving at the Holy Nativity Church on Sunnybank Road.
Everyone gathered inside the church hall to listen to an Easter talk given by Rev. Robb Sutherland then Holly Lynch judged the best homemade bonnets. A difficult endeavor as so many wonderful hats and bonnets!
Each winning hat wearer won a large Easter egg and 18 Easter eggs, kindly donated by Wm. Morrison’s’ supermarket were given out as raffle prizes.
