Halifax RUFC are delighted to reveal their plans to bring junior rugby back to Ovenden Park.
Despite boasting a thriving senior section – made up of men’s, ladies and mixed ability teams – Halifax have been without a junior membership for the past few years.
However Toby Turner has now taken up the role as head of junior rugby at Halifax RUFC and will work with the club’s rugby committee and the RFU in a bid to revive the juniors.
Director of rugby Tony Curtis said: “We are delighted that Toby will be spearheading this initiative. He is a Halifax club man who is keen to put something back into the club.
“The juniors are a vital part of the club’s long-term aims, In the past we have seen some really good players come through the youth ranks to represent the club, with a number of last season’s first second team squads having been part of our last batch of juniors.”
Halifax RUFC will host now special junior sessions at Ovenden Park on Wednesday June 29th (at 6.30pm) and Saturday July 2 (at 11am), with boys and girls of all ages welcome along.
