Abbey Park School Parliament help Clean for the Queen

IMG_1521Pupils from the Abbey Park School Parliament continued their great work in the area and helped clean the grounds around Illingworth Moor Church as part of the Clean for the Queen Campaign on Monday 21 March 2016.

Joined by Community Warden Ced Oakley, Karen Scanlon Ovenden Initiative, Sharon Lawrance from Illingworth Moor Church and Illingworth Ward Officer PC Dave Illingworth the group set out armed with bags and litter picks to help clean up the area.

The 5 bags full of litter collected in such a short space of time was telling of how much effort the School Parliament puts in to ensuring the area is well looked after for the local community and what a fantastic job they did!

Other projects the Abbey Park School Parliament have taken part in include a Speed Initiative Session to tackle speeding in the area alongside West Yorkshire Police as well as designed posters to tackle dog fouling in the area.
